Jordi Morgan is an award-winning Canadian journalist, producer, and television and radio anchor. Over his remarkable 40-year career, he has mastered the art and science of communicating with confidence and conviction.
As a journalist himself, he knows what makes a great interview and how to cut through the noise in our always-on, omni-channel universe; with communication tools and media awareness, Jordi shares tips and practical advice on how to show up, manage fear and deliver a compelling message – one that connects with audiences and that translates across broadcast, print, digital and social media.
An engaging and fun personality, Jordi creates a psychologically safe space for participants to explore and experiment with techniques and strategies that are tailored to their personality and unique assets.
Jordi’s diverse professional career includes almost a decade as Vice President with the Canadian Federation of Independent Business where he advocated for a strong and vibrant small business community.
As a journalist for over 20 years, he hosted and produced CBC National television news, broadcasted the 1996 Olympics from Atlanta, was a music journalist with MuchMusic in the 1980s, and produced and hosted his own podcast “Fall Back Up” in recent years. The thread that connects Jordi’s career has been a natural curiosity about business, politics, sports, and people which is core to his media training sessions. Jordi draws out the best in others, engages audiences, and creates meaningful connections.
In addition to working with the CBC for over a decade with CBC Morning News, CBC Newsworld, Jordi has also worked in private radio with CHUM Group, Rogers Communications, and Newcap Broadcasting.
Jordi has consulted on CRTC regulations, worked in politics, and provided communications and public affairs expertise to both private and public organizations. He acted as as Director of Parliamentary Affairs to the Minister of Human Resources & Skills Development Canada, and as Deputy Chief of Staff to the Leader of the Opposition, both based in Ottawa, and was honoured to provide media training to Canadian Armed Forces personnel prior to their deployment to Afghanistan.
Jordi lends his reputation and public speaking, fundraising, business, and governance expertise to the community and volunteer organizations in the arts, health, and education sectors.
He holds a diploma in radio broadcasting from Nova Scotia Community College. Through successfully completing courses in leadership, negotiation and management, he earned a Certificate in Management and Leadership Specialization from Harvard Business School. During the pandemic he earned a certificate in Communicating for Influence and Impact from the University of Cambridge’s Institute for Sustainability Leadership and was given exemplary assessments for his completion of the certificate program at the MIT Sloan School of Management in Social Media Strategy: Creating Engagement, Insight, and Action.
